The safe wash method (and why it matters)
High-value paintwork is easily ruined by the wrong wash. Never use an automatic car wash — the brushes and harsh chemicals cause fine swirl scratches and damage trim. The professional method:
- Pre-rinse to lift and remove loose grit before touching the paint.
- Two-bucket wash — one bucket of pH-neutral shampoo, one of clean water to rinse the wash mitt between passes, so grit isn’t dragged back across the paint. Use a soft microfibre mitt, working top to bottom.
